Greensboro Transit Agency has a $1.4 million operations deficit caused by a reduction in ridership. To balance the Transit Fund and avoid fare increases, the recommended budget considers ending weeknight fixed route bus service at 9:30 pm; making service hourly from 10 am to 3 pm on Routes 2-5, 7-10 and 14-17; and eliminating free SCAT rider passes on fixed route buses. The proposed fixed route changes are expected to affect 1.3% of riders. For more information on the overall City budget recommendation, visit ridegta.com.
